Diano Castello: the Ligurian village between sea and hills

Just a few kilometres from the coast and the bustling centre of Diano Marina there is Diano Castello, a wonderful medieval village quietly nestled in the hills.
Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, it almost seems as if time has not passed in these parts.
Walking along its narrow alleys, one finds oneself captivated by the view of the Dianese Gulf and the small Ligurian-style mansions.
The heart of the village is undoubtedly the parish church of San Nicola di Bari, but among the alleys you will also find the Oratory of the Santissima Annunziata and part of the ancient town walls, which testify to how well the village was defended and therefore coveted over the centuries.

Diano Castello is also a village of flavour: extra virgin olive oil is produced here, made from the Taggiasca olives that represent Liguria in the world, and Vermentino wine, born from these vineyards.
There is no shortage of opportunities to taste these products, participating in events and village festivals or simply following local initiatives.

The perfect place for a sunset stroll, a cultural visit or simply to get away from the sea, Diano Castello is a bit of a memory chest of history, nature and, so to speak, “minor beauty”, to be discovered calmly, step by step.
